We’d like to thank all the participants for submitting their essays and we encourage you to continue your pursuit of studying in the US!

We commend these 10 students for writing interesting, well-written and insightful essays for this competition. As we enter into the Final Round, we want you all to do present your best work, both in written form and with an oral presentation in front of the YWL Advisory Board.

 

Note: We will host a workshop to guide you in this process.

 

 

Information for Final Round Participants

 

 

Step 1: Please begin to brainstorm the final essay topic:

     

      In your opinion, should the internet be censored? Why do some countries censor and others do not? Explain from your personal, local, national or societal perspective.

 

Step 2: Sign up for “The Essay Writing and Presentation Skills Workshop”. More information will be emailed to the aforementioned participants.

 

Step 3: Participants will need to present their final essays to the Young Writers League Advisory Board in May. The three best essays and presentations will be given the title of Young Writers League Scholar. 

 

Step 4: You are all one step closer to the final prizes….

 

  • Winning essays will be published in national World Education magazine
  • Receive YWL Achievement Award
  • Opportunity to highlight this experience on future US/UK college applications
  • Recognition at YWL celebration for finalists and winners.
  • Top three finalist will receive free tuition to US Top Colleges Counseling Camp in Shanghai ( Please add link to summer camp details on website)
